TrueNorthFoot has covered Canadian soccer since January 2019. A key source of information for fans, players, and staff across the country, TrueNorthFoot provides coverage of the Canadian Premier League, Canada’s three Major League Soccer clubs, the Northern Super League, the Men’s and Women’s National Teams, the Premier Soccer Leagues Canada, the Canadian Championship, and more.
For the first time in its seven-year history, TrueNorthFoot is looking for contributors to help take the outlet to the next level.
We are seeking writers, content creators, and photographers dedicated to covering specific subjects, such as an individual club, a league, or another focused area within the Canadian soccer landscape.

French content is more than welcome for subjects that can generate interest within French-speaking communities (e.g., clubs in Montréal and Ottawa).
What you’ll be doing
Contributors will help produce written and/or visual content such as match reports, news, features, and opinion pieces.
For writers, we are ideally looking for contributors who can publish at least one or two articles per week, though frequency can vary.

It's important to note that TrueNorthFoot operates on a non-profit basis and does not generate revenue. As a result, it is unable to offer financial compensation for any work or contributions made. Everything we do is purely for the love of the game.
Who we’re looking for
- Passionate about Canadian soccer
- Strong written English or French
- Good knowledge of the sport
- Previous writing experience is a plus, but not required
- Availability during matchdays (especially weekends) is a strong asset for most roles
Our goal is to become the leading independent source for Canadian soccer coverage, and with over 10,000 followers across our social media platforms, we are well on our way.
