What the CanMNT's 2025 will look like
BY TRUENORTHFOOT PUBLISHED ON JANUARY 1, 2025 (MODIFIED ON JAN 1, 2025)

2025 has arrived, meaning more games and competitions for the Canadian Men's National Team.

It will be a busy year for Les Rouges, who will participate in two major tournaments and hope to finally break a 25-year run without lifting a trophy.

Without further ado, let's get right into it.

Concacaf Nations League finals

After missing out on the semi-finals last year following an embarrassing home loss to Jamaica, Canada is back in the semis. This time, they’ll face Mexico in what promises to feel like an away match in Los Angeles.

The match against Mexico is set for March 20 at SoFi Stadium, south of the border. Despite Canada being the highest-ranked team among the four semifinalists, the United States, who will face Panama, will once again host all remaining matches.

The final and third-place matches are scheduled for just three days later, at the same venue.

The U.S.A. has dominated the Concacaf Nations League, winning all three previous editions by defeating Mexico twice and Canada once in the finals.

The Concacaf Gold Cup is back after two years and Canada are one of the nine teams with a spot secured for the tournament.

Les Rouges qualified after advancing to the semi-finals of the Nations League.

The Gold Cup will begin on June 14 and will conclude with the grand finale on July 6. Canada will be hoping to win its 2nd ever Gold Cup, having previously lifted the trophy in 1985 and most recently in 2000.

The CanMNT won’t know their group stage opponents until April 10, when the draw is scheduled to take place.

BC Place of Vancouver will be one of the host venues, with all the other stadiums being located in the United States.

September – October – November windows

Canada will skip the World Cup qualifiers, having already secured their spot as one of the host nations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

There are three international windows later this year. The first runs from September 1 to 9, the second from October 6 to 14, and the final window of the year from November 10 to 18.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, it's likely that Canada will play friendlies in these dates.
