FC Supra earned a 2-1 win over Cavalry thanks to two early goals.
The playoff debutants got off to a hot start, dominating possession and trapping the reigning CPL Shield winners in their own end for the opening thirty minutes.
Zachary Brault-Guillard capped off a brilliant passing sequence by Supra in the fourth minute to put the home side ahead. This first goal for Supra rewarded the attacking unit's collective effort and continued their success from the end of the regular season. The combined efforts of Sean Rea, Diyaeddine Abzi, and Loïc Kwemi left the Cavalry back line scrambling in their own box, with Nathan Ingham virtually helpless against the powerful strike.

Supra would continue to press for the next twenty minutes, but Cavalry eventually established themselves in the match.
With the help of FVS, Cavalry were awarded a penalty in the 40th minute for a handball in the box. Tobias Warschewski stepped up to the spot and was initially denied by Joakim Milli but managed to slot his own rebound into the yawning goal, bringing his side back within one.

Cavalry began the second half with an attacking phase of their own, desperate to level the score and bring a draw back home to ATCO Field.
As the match progressed, fouls accumulated for both sides, with each team committing 23. Despite the high number, only three yellow cards were awarded, with Michael Baldisimo and Harry Paton being booked for Cavalry and Alessandro Biello picking up a caution for the hosts.
Both sides traded big chances, but no goals came in the second half. Ingham made a diving save and deflected the ball wide with his fingertips, while Milli was fortunate to see an attempt by Owen Graham-Roache sail just wide of his goal.
Cavalry had chances to equalize, finishing the match with 2.09 expected goals and 14 total shots, but Supra's strong defending and Cavalry's inability to convert their chances secured the home side's victory.
With the win, Kyt Selaidopoulos improves to 5-1-0 in his tenure as Supra's manager. This also marks the first time Supra have defeated Cavalry over 90 minutes.
The Cavs, meanwhile, continue their concerning run of form. They've been dreadful on the road lately, consistently conceding early goals and failing to win a road match since mid-September. Luckily for the Shield winners, they have been unbeaten at ATCO Field across all competitions since July of last year.
The two sides will meet again on Saturday, November 7, at ATCO Field. Supra will advance to the final with a draw or win in 90 minutes, while Cavalry will need to win by two, or win by one and force extra time, to stay alive.
