Supra and Cavalry meet on Sunday afternoon at Stade Boréale to begin their two-legged semi-final tie.

The Cavs earned three wins from four meetings between the clubs in the 2026 regular season, with the other match ending in a draw.

Both matches at Stade Boréale were physical, closely contested, back-and-forth affairs with few goals. Cavalry's victory came despite controversy over FVS challenges for penalties from both sides, while the draw was narrowly salvaged by a Caniggia Elva equalizer in the final minutes.

Most recently, the clubs met at ATCO Field in late September, where Cavalry's offence exploded for six goals to win 6-0.

Ironically, this match would turn Supra's fortunes around. Nick Razzaghi was let go following the lopsided loss, and Kyt Selaidopoulos took the helm with immediate effect.

At the time, Supra were eight points out of the final playoff spot. However, Selaidopoulos' changes had an immediate impact as the side compiled four wins and a draw to round out their season, the CPL's best record in October.

A chaotic 4-3 win in Halifax, combined with Cavalry's 1-0 title-winning triumph over Vancouver FC, allowed Supra to leapfrog the Eagles in the standings and earn a chance to play for the North Star Cup in their debut season.

Supra's offence erupted to score 16 goals in October, with Golden Boot winner Loïc Kwemi leading the charge with four. This newfound scoring touch will undoubtedly have Supra thinking they can go toe-to-toe with the Cavs' league-leading offence.

Cavalry, meanwhile, stumbled at the end of the regular season and narrowly won the Shield after carrying a commanding points advantage into October.

What looked like a foregone conclusion for the Albertans came down to the dwindling minutes of Decision Day. Cavalry's victory not only gave them the Shield, but also allowed Supra to surpass Vancouver, a favour the Québécois side will be in no hurry to repay.

Cavalry's fearsome attacking unit stalled out in the latter stages of the season and will hope to rediscover their form from the last meeting between the clubs.

Players to watch

Alessandro Biello has played every minute for Kyt Selaidopoulos since he took over in late September. The U21 man has had an exceptional second half of the season in Supra's defensive midfield and added an assist in their second-last regular-season match.

David Choinière is no stranger to big matches against Cavalry. Some of Supra's less experienced players will look to the former Forge man for leadership and a competitive spark.

Sean Rea has had a superb first season with Supra. Despite a slight regression in scoring through the middle of the year, Rea's hot start to 2026 was complemented by his form in the last two matches, where he has scored a goal in each.

The defensive duo of Daan Klomp and Amer Didic were a large part of Cavalry's Shield bid in 2026. With contributions in both boxes, the pair will be called upon once again to set the tone for the visitors at both ends of the pitch.

Ali Musse scored the first hat-trick in Cavalry history the last time these clubs met. In a two-legged format, any goals Cavalry can score on the road will serve them well when they return home to host their half of the tie.

Availability

Safwane Mlah picked up a three-match suspension following the club's last game against the Wanderers. The 24-year-old will be unavailable to Supra for the remainder of the season, even if they advance to the final.

Midfielder Harry Paton missed the last two matches for Cavalry due to a suspension but is eligible to return for the playoffs.

Sergio Camargo has been absent for Cavalry's last several matches. The veteran midfielder hinted recently that his return could be imminent and has not been ruled out of Sunday's action.

Adam Pearlman exited last weekend's match with a shoulder injury after just over an hour. The standout U21 player has been ruled out of Sunday's action but may return for the second leg next weekend.
