The first leg of the Northern Super League semifinals is coming to an end, with the Vancouver Rise and Montréal Roses set to battle it out at Swangard Stadium tomorrow evening.

Here's everything you need to know heading into the game!

How the Vancouver Rise enter this match

It was a very tight race for the fourth and final playoff spot between the Vancouver Rise and Halifax Tides, but thanks to positive results from the Vancouver perspective, they have entered the postseason for a second straight season.

They qualified after Mia Pante's brace secured a 3-2 win over the Calgary Wild, while Halifax's 1-1 draw against AFC Toronto was the decisive factor in the inaugural champions' return to the NSL Playoffs.

This will be no easy task for the Vancouver Rise, but if there's one thing that they have shown in their first two seasons as a professional club, it is that they persevere to the maximum and will not give up until the final whistle tells them to.

How the Montréal Roses enter this match

It's the opposite for the visiting Roses, who comfortably qualified for the postseason before winning the Supporters' Shield at home.

That happened in their last match of the season, when they were victorious over the Ottawa Rapid by a 1-0 scoreline thanks to a Tanya Boychuk winning strike.

Coming in as the clear favourites in this showdown, the Roses have been unbelievable against the Vancouver Rise; it wouldn't be a shock to most people if they cruise past Vancouver.

Head-to-Head

In the five meetings across the 2026 season, Montréal had the upper hand with three wins, one draw and a loss, with the visitors grabbing 4-0, 5-1, and 4-3 wins, with the latter win coming at Swangard Stadium.

Vancouver's lone win came away from home: they took down the Roses in a dramatic 3-2 win at the end of May.

The most recent meeting produced this season's only tie between the two sides, with a late Tori Tumeth goal cancelled out by a goal from Evelyn Badu just one minute later in a 2-2 draw at Swangard.

Availability

For Vancouver, Maithé López, Chantelle Swaby, Jessika Wulf, and Ariel Young are all confirmed to miss tomorrow's clash, while Jaime Perrault, Quinn, and Camila Reyes are in doubt for this clash.

For Montréal, Mara Bouchard, Anna Karpenko, and Eve Périsset are unavailable due to injury, while Olivia Mbala is in doubt for tomorrow.
