The Montreal Roses and Calgary Wild will meet for what will already be the third time in just nine weeks of the young 2026 season.

The Roses claimed a road victory in week 1 with a 2-0 away result, with both goals coming from current Golden Boot leader Elyse Bennett. The two teams met again in Calgary in week four and played to a memorable 2-2 draw that was highlighted by Mya Jones' phenomenal debut performance that saw her score two goals in the final minutes, after being subbed into the match just moments before.

The Roses come into Sunday's match sitting second in the table with a 4-2-1 record, but are coming off a draw to AFC Toronto and a loss to Vancouver Rise in their last two matches. They will look to rediscover their winning ways against the Wild, who they have historically produced the most offence (13GF) against and defeated the most (4 wins) when compared to any other head-to-head matchup. Lisa Pechersky has 2 goals and 4 assists through 7 matches in 2026, as she continues to make a big impact in all areas of the field with her new squad.

The Wild have struggled mightily as of late, sitting bottom of the table as the only remaining winless side, with only a single draw through 6 matches. The Wild failed to score against Halifax last week, despite playing the second half against fewer players. Having been outscored 0-10 in their last three matches, and only scoring four total goals through their first six matches, the Albertan side will be desperate to find an offensive spark as soon as possible. Despite the recent struggles of the Wild, the defensive duo of Grace Stordy and Tilly James have been vital contributors throughout the start of the season. Through six starts, the pair have each accumulated over 500 minutes, combined for 33 tackles, and have consistently made key defensive plays.

Availability

The hosts are faced with a trio of players carrying injury designations entering the match. Most notably, Stephanie Hill has started every match thus far for the Roses and played 602 of 630 available minutes. Julia Leas is yet to appear for the Roses this season after an impactful 2025. Finally, Noemi Paquin has yet to make a start, but has come off the bench on five occasions and been extremely efficient across those appearances, scoring two goals on four shots in just 140 minutes played.

For the Wild, Allie Hess has been out since the first match of the season, and Caleigh Boeckx's status is in question after missing the Wild's most recent match.
