It’s time for the final match of week three in the 2026 Canadian Premier League season, as Inter Toronto returns home to host a Vancouver FC side playing its first away game of the campaign.

Here’s everything you need to know.

How Inter Toronto FC enter

For Mauro Eustáquio’s side, it was a frustrating start to the season, as they were held to a 2-2 draw by the Halifax Wanderers. A brace from Julian Altobelli was cancelled out by a late equalizer from Kareem Sow.

Still, it’s a point to open the campaign, and they will feel they have a strong opportunity to secure a win tomorrow afternoon.

How Vancouver FC enter

It’s back-to-back defeats for Martin Nash and Vancouver FC to open the league campaign, with the most recent a 1-0 loss to Forge, as Maxime Filion scored a late winner in a match Vancouver largely controlled.

The Eagles have arguably looked the better side in both games, and tomorrow’s trip away from home could be a chance to finally get their first points of 2026.

Head-to-head

The last meeting between these two sides came at the end of September last year, with Vancouver FC claiming a 2-1 win at Willoughby Park, as Pathé Ndiaye and Paris Gee scored after a temporary equalizer from Massimo Ferrin.

In 13 meetings between the two clubs, Inter Toronto have dominated the matchup, recording nine wins compared to Vancouver FC’s two, with the remaining two ending in draws.

Toronto’s biggest win came in a 4-0 victory at York Lions Stadium on July 19th, 2025, with Adonijah Reid and Kembo Kibato both scoring alongside Gabriel Bitar’s brace.

Vancouver’s two wins have both come by a 2-1 scoreline, including the most recent meeting and another back in 2023.

Players to watch

Toronto’s main source of goals in 2025 was striker Julian Altobelli, who finished the year with 15 goals across all competitions, 11 of them in league play. He has picked up right where he left off in 2026, scoring twice in Toronto’s opening match of the season, and will be a threat again tomorrow.

One of the key figures in Vancouver’s squad is attacking midfielder Nicolás Mezquida. The former Vancouver Whitecaps cult favourite enjoyed a strong 2025, scoring eight goals and adding two assists in 23 appearances across all competitions, including three goals during Vancouver FC’s Cinderella Canadian Championship run. If Vancouver are going to take all three points, Mezquida is likely to play a central role.

Availability

Inter Toronto will be without new signings Raúl López, Ariel Almagro, and Sebastián Gonzáles, while Kembo Kibato remains sidelined through injury and Osvaldo León is serving a long-term suspension. Alex Bergman is available again for Mauro Eustáquio’s side.

Vancouver FC report no new injuries, and Tyler Crawford returns from a two-match suspension, making him available for selection for the first time this season.
