Dan Nimick has announced his departure from the Halifax Wanderers.
The talented 24-year-old spent two seasons at Wanderers Grounds, establishing himself as a crucial part of the team's backline. He played a pivotal role in helping them achieve a club-best 3rd place finish in the 2023 season, narrowly missing out on 2nd place due to the 5th tie-breaker.
"As my time as a Wanderer comes to an end, I look back filled with nothing but pride and gratitude." said the defender on his Instagram account. "This football community is special, and it was an honor to play a small role in it over the past two years. Thank you to every fan, teammate, and member of staff that made my first professional experience such a positive one"
Nimick has made 54 appearances for the Wanderers across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, showcasing impressive offensive contributions for a center-back with 15 goals and 6 assists.
While Nimick's departure from Halifax is undoubtedly a significant loss for the club, his replacement may already be in place, as the Wanderers have signed former Pacific FC defender Thomas Meilleur-Giguère to a two-year contract.
Meilleur-Giguère spent five seasons on the west coast, making 120 appearances and playing a key role in helping Pacific FC secure its first and only title to date.
