Wanderers Grounds will host the Matchweek 25 finale as Cavalry and Halifax meet for the fourth and final time of the 2026 season.
Kick-off is expected to coincide with a forecasted daily high of around 17 degrees, setting the stage for a critical match for both sides.
2026 head-to-head
Cavalry hosted the first two matches between the sides in 2026, with the home side marching to a 2-0 win in June thanks to a pair of second-half goals. Six weeks later, the Wanderers returned and battled to a 1-1 draw. The squads last met on Labour Day Monday in Halifax, where a scoreless first half was overshadowed by a three-goal Cavalry outburst in the second half, en route to a 3-1 away win.
How Halifax enter the match
Halifax are coming off a thrilling 3-3 draw against Forge last weekend. Down 2-0 with ten minutes to go, Nelson Pierre put the Wanderers on the scoreboard in the 81st minute. Forge looked to pull away with a third goal in the first minute of added time, but Liam Mackenzie brought the visitors back four minutes later. As the minutes ticked by, late substitute Tavio Ciccarelli finally brought the Wanderers level for the first time since the fourth minute of play. The draw not only kept the Wanderers in striking distance of the final play-off spot, but it also prevented Forge from levelling Cavalry at the top of the table. Despite doing Cavalry a favour last weekend, the Wanderers will now look to thwart the Cavs' bid to pull away again in the late-season standings.
How Cavalry enter the match
Monday marks the third and final game of the Cavs' current road trip and their final away match of the season. Despite having sat at the top of the standings for an extended period, Cavalry are in the midst of a two-game losing streak — their only back-to-back losses of 2026. First falling to Atlético Ottawa and then Inter Toronto three days later, Cavalry have struggled defensively in their last two matches, conceding nearly a third of their season's total goals. Inter quickly took a 2-0 lead inside the opening quarter-hour and stifled any offensive efforts Cavalry put forward. Amer Didic gave the visitors life in the 83rd minute, but the comeback attempt ultimately fell short. After a two-match skid, Monday's match has become a critical flashpoint in the Cavs' bid for the CPL shield, as they can still control their own fate if they win out the remainder of their schedule.
Availability
Sergio Camargo has missed Cavalry's last three matches due to what has been described as an ongoing issue. His availability for this week remains in question.
Adam Pearlman was a surprise absentee in last weekend's loss, with no update on his status. Last weekend marked his first non-suspension-related exclusion from Cavalry's starting line-up all season.
Caniggia Elva enjoyed a successful international window with St. Lucia. With their four matches wrapped up, Monday could mark Elva's return to the Cavs' attack.
Maël Henry has routinely collected second-half appearances for Cavalry after dealing with injury for much of the season. The 22-year-old's recent form was capped off by a goal against FC Supra in Cavalry's 6-0 victory last month.
