Finally, it's time for CF Montréal's home opener.
After spending the first six weekends of the 2026 MLS season on the road, Stade Saputo will play host to an Impact team that hasn't gotten off to a great start in their tough road fixtures.
On the other side is a Philadelphia Union side that is having a nightmare defence of their 2025 Supporters' Shield, losing all of their first six matches and crashing out of the CONCACAF Champions Cup in the early stages.
Montréal will hope some home cooking and a struggling opponent will be just what the doctor ordered to get their season back on track.
The Union won both of last season's matches between these two by identical 2-1 scorelines.
How CF Montréal enter the match
It was a tough performance coming out of the international break for the Bleu-blanc-noir, falling 3-0 on the road to the New England Revolution.
Losing has unfortunately become a symptom of the Impact's season so far, with their only victory coming in matchday three against the Red Bulls.
Forward runs and big switches tore up Montréal's man-marking system last week, while Matt Turner made easy work of any chances on goal they could garner up.
This week presents a new challenge, though, as they face a Philadelphia side that will want less of the ball and have had trouble creating chances. Marco Donadel's side will look to limit individual errors to keep their opponents from getting free looks at goal, and if they can do that, they'll have a chance at getting a result in this one.
In the attack, Iván Jaime will need to continue to be influential and add some end product to his game. Prince Owusu and Wiki Carmona are the only goal scorers for the club so far this season, so finding someone who can give some secondary goal scoring will go a long way.
How Philadelphia Union enter the match
It's hard to find anything that hasn't gone wrong for the Union so far this season.
After finishing first in the regular season last year, they decided to undergo a ton of roster turnover in the winter, moving on from some top players such as Tai Baribo, Jakob Glesnes, Kai Wagner and Mikael Uhre.
So far, they've really missed those players' contributions. They've lost every game in MLS this season and have scored a league-worst 4 goals (tied with D.C. United).
Their play under Bradley Carnell has been very focused on high pressing and forcing turnovers and physical duels, and the lack of talent on the roster this year has seen them struggle to create chances and not be able to keep the ball out of their own net enough.
Where they'll hope to dominate Montréal is in the midfield, where the partnership of Danley Jean Jacques and Jovan Lukić should be able to control the middle of the park.
Both teams will feel like they can snap out of their funk against one another, which should lead to a spirited game.
Availability
New signing Frankie Amaya is said to be fully fit per Donadel, but hasn't trained much with the team yet, so his availability is a question mark. Bode Hidalgo should remain out due to injury, while Sunusi Ibrahim and Noah Streit have been sick this week, so they should also be listed as questionable. Brayan Vera was seen running on his own in training this week, so likely won't be available from the start, at least.
For Philadelphia, Quinn Sullivan is still out recovering from an ACL injury, while Agustin Anello missed last week's match and likely won't be back for this one.
Projected XIs
TrueNorthFoot projects a couple of changes in total, with Hennadiy Synchuk entering for the hosts, and youngster Cavan Sullivan getting a start for the visitors.
