The reigning champions head into a busy two months before their continental clashes with Major League Soccer side Nashville SC.

They confirmed the return of head coach Diego Mejía for the 2026 season, exercising his contract option.

The club announced nine players already under contract for 2026: defenders Loïc Cloutier, Joaquim Coulanges, Brett Levis, and Sergei Kozlovskiy; midfielders Gabriel Antinoro and Jean-Aniel Assi; and forwards Ralph Khoury, Richie Ennin, and Ballou Tabla.

They have until December 31 to trigger club options on goalkeeper Tristan Crampton, defender Jason Hartill (U SPORTS), and midfielder Manuel Aparicio.

Juan "Coque" Castro's 2026 option was automatically activated after meeting a performance clause, while the club has also exercised Noah Abatneh's 2026 option.

Eight players will see their contracts expire at the end of the year: goalkeeper Nathan Ingham; defenders Amer Didić and Tyr Duhaney-Walker; midfielders Kevin Dos Santos, Alberto Zapater, Noah Verhoeven, and Abou Sissoko; and forward Sam Salter.

Salter, who made history this season with 29 goal contributions in 35 matches, will join Swedish top-flight club Göteborgs Atlet- och Idrottssällskap (GAIS) on January 1, 2026, once his contract expires. Dos Santos will also depart ahead of 2026, while striker Monty Patterson has mutually agreed to terminate his contract.

The biggest news, however, is the departure of David Rodríguez—scorer of the viral bicycle kick and the championship-winning goal in the 2025 CPL final—who returns to Atlético San Luis following the end of his loan. Other loanees returning to their parent clubs include Antonio Álvarez (Club América) and Roni Mbomio (Atlético Madrid).

The club says "contract discussions are ongoing with all players who have club options, expired contracts, and are free agents."

The CPL Shield winners will have a slightly shorter off-season than Ottawa, as they face a Mexican opponent in the Champions Cup. Their fixtures will take place in the opening weeks of February, while Ottawa begins its campaign in the final two weeks of the month.

Twelve players are already under contract through the 2026 season: defenders Rezart Rama, Daniel Nimick, and Ben Paton; midfielders Alessandro Hojabrpour, Keito Lipovschek, Kyle Bekker, Zayne Bruno, and Christos Liatifis; and forwards Tristan Borges, Hoce Massunda, Brian Wright, and Mo Babouli.

The club has invited its two CPL-U SPORTS Draft selections—Noah Bickford and Maxime Bourgeois—to join the pre-season camp, where they will have the chance to earn either a CPL-U SPORTS deal or a standard professional contract for 2026.

Forge holds club options on four players and has until December 31 to activate them: defenders Khadim Kane and Marko Jevremović; midfielder Noah Jensen; and goalkeeper Dino Bontis.

The club has also retained the U-SPORTS rights of Maxime Filion and Amadou Koné for the 2025 season.

Contracts for goalkeepers Jassem Koilelat and Chris Kalongo; defenders Elimane Cissé, Alexander Achinioti-Jönsson, and Malik Owolabi-Belewu; and forwards David Choinière, Nana Ampomah, Harry Paton, and Victor Klonaridis are set to expire on December 31, 2025.

The club has also retained the U SPORTS rights for defenders Eric Lajeunesse and Fin Tugwell for 2026, allowing Pacific to sign them directly to a CPL–U SPORTS Contract without requiring them to re-enter the draft.
