It's a major matchup Saturday night at TD Place Stadium, as the Ottawa Rapid host the Vancouver Rise in the opening match of this new matchweek.

Here's everything you need to know heading into tomorrow's game.

How the Ottawa Rapid enter this match

The league leaders suffered a rare loss in their most recent outing, as the Calgary Wild grabbed a 4-3 win at McMahon Stadium.

In the current NSL standings, the Rapid sit at the top of the table, holding a three-point lead ahead of the Montréal Roses, while also holding a +1 goal difference advantage over the Roses.

The Rapid have already beaten the Rise twice this season, so can they do it again at home?

How the Vancouver Rise enter this match

The champions got a much-needed win last week, taking down the Halifax Tides by a 2-1 scoreline at Swangard Stadium.

The Vancouver Rise see themselves in fifth place, but are two points behind fourth-place Halifax Tides.

As they look to start a winning streak, can they take down Ottawa and climb back into the playoff spots?

Head-to-head

In their most recent meeting, the Ottawa Rapid ran away as 3-1 winners at Swangard Stadium, and the Rapid also won the first meeting this season, taking Vancouver down by a big 4-0 scoreline at TD Place Stadium.

The Rapid have the overall series lead in the nine matches between these two sides, with the hosts winning five and tying once, with the Rise winning three times.

Players to watch

With DB Pridham suspended, eyes will be on midfielder Keera Melenhorst, who's been chipping in goals from her defensive midfield role. In 16 matches this season, the 23-year-old has recorded five goals and four assists, with those of the latter coming in the 4-0 win against Vancouver. Can she provide a spark in the star's absence?

One of Vancouver's newest international signings has been a force in midfield. 24-year-old Camila Reyes has been one of the more underrated players on the Rise this season, as she's recorded a goal and two assists in 15 matches. She's gonna be important tomorrow if Vancouver wants a win tomorrow night.

Availability

For the Ottawa Rapid, Emily Amano and Olivia Scott were unavailable in their loss to Calgary, as no update has been provided. Choo Hyo-joo will be back from suspension after her red card against AFC Toronto, but DB Pridham won't be available following her debatable red card against the Calgary Wild.

For the Vancouver Rise, Jessika Cowart, Mia Pante, Quinn, Nikki Stanton, Shannon Woeller, Sura Yekka, and Ariel Young were unavailable in their win against Halifax, with Stanton and Yekka not being listed on the report but missing out. The good news is that standout signing Tori Tumeth is back from suspension after her red card in the 3-2 loss to Calgary.
