These terms apply when you use truenorthfoot.ca, create an account, or post comments. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.

Your account

• You must be at least 14 years old to create an account.
• One account per person. Provide a real email address you have access to.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• Usernames must not impersonate other people, players, clubs, journalists or TrueNorthFoot, and must not be offensive.
• You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.

Community guidelines

Comments are for discussing the article and Canadian soccer. Passionate debate and banter are more than welcome, including strong opinions about clubs, players and referees. Keep it about the soccer, not the person.

Not allowed:

• Hate and discrimination: attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics.
• Harassment and threats: insults aimed at other members or at players, staff or journalists, threats of any kind, or encouraging others to target someone.
• Private information: posting anyone's personal details, such as an address or phone number.
• Spam and advertising: promotions, repeated messages, or links posted to sell something.
• Impersonation and misleading content: pretending to be someone else, or presenting rumours as confirmed facts to deceive.
• Illegal content, including content that infringes copyright, such as copying full articles from other outlets.
• Getting around moderation: creating new accounts after a ban, or using several accounts to vote or report.

Moderation

Members can report comments that break these guidelines. Moderators may hide comments, and suspend or ban accounts, at their discretion, with or without warning, especially for serious or repeated violations. Comments reported by several members may be hidden automatically until a moderator reviews them. If you think a decision was a mistake, contact info@truenorthfoot.ca.

Your comments

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting a comment, you allow TrueNorthFoot to display it on the site, including on articles and your public profile, for as long as it stays online. You can delete your comments at any time. You are responsible for what you post, and you must have the right to post it.

Site content

Articles, statistics, photos, logos and the design of the site belong to TrueNorthFoot or to their respective owners. You may share links and images of our content, but you may not copy or republish it without permission. Club and competition names and logos belong to their owners and are used for identification only.

Statistics and information

We work hard to keep statistics, results and schedules accurate, but they are provided as is and may contain errors. Do not rely on them for betting or other financial decisions.

Limitation of liability

TrueNorthFoot is not responsible for comments posted by members, for interruptions of the site, or for losses resulting from use of the site.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for important changes we will let members know on the site or by email. Continuing to use your account means you accept the updated terms.
