Report: Diego Mejía is Atlético Ottawa's new head coach
BY TRUENORTHFOOT PUBLISHED ON DECEMBER 27, 2024

It seems Atlético Ottawa has found its new head coach.

According to reliable Argentine journalist César Luis Merlo, reporting for AM, Diego Mejía is set to become the club’s manager for 2025, signing a one-year deal in the nation’s capital.

The Mexican coach previously managed Liga MX side FC Juárez in April 2023, recording six wins, six draws, and sixteen losses. He failed to qualify for the playoffs in either of the two seasons he participated in.

Before stepping into management, Mejía played for several Mexican clubs, including Querétaro, Tijuana, Atlante, and León.

Atlético Ottawa had been without a head coach since Carlos González departed after the 2024 season, ending a three-year tenure during which he led the club to its first and only title to date.
