Malik Owolabi-Belewu stays: Forge triggered his 2025 club option

Malik Owolabi-Belewu is extending his stay in Hamilton, with Forge FC having triggered his 2025 club option, keeping him there for at least one more year.

The English defender joined the Hammers in 2022, becoming a reliable presence in the backline. Over the past three seasons, he accumulated 73 appearances in all competitions, contributing to three goals, including his game-winning header against Atlético Ottawa in the 2024 Canadian Premier League 2nd semifinal.

With this news, Forge now has seven confirmed players in the 2025 roster; Defenders Malik Owolabi-Belewu and Alexander Achinioti-Jönsson, midfielders Noah Jensen, Khadim Kane, and Elimane Cissé, and finally, forwards Nana Ampomah and David Choinière.
