Vancouver announces return of trio of U21 defenders; Crawford, Cameron and Campagna
BY TRUENORTHFOOT PUBLISHED ON JANUARY 15, 2025 (MODIFIED ON JAN 15, 2025)

Vancouver FC has announced the return of three U21 defenders; Tyler Crawford, James Cameron, and Matteo Campagna.

Crawford signed a new contract with Vancouver guaranteed through 2025 with an option for 2026, while Cameron and Campagna will both return for the upcoming Canadian Premier League season after the club exercised the options on their respective contracts.

James Cameron holds the most appearances for any U21 player in the club, having made 37 appearances across the past two seasons, scoring a big last-minute winner against Ottawa in 2024.

Last year, he was called up by the Canadian Men's U20 National Team, where he participated in the Concacaf U20 Championship as well as the competition's qualifiers.

Matteo Campagna returns for a second year after appearing in 11 matches in his debut season.

He recorded 2 assists in his time there, including in a 97th minute game-winner by Ayman Sellouf in Winnipeg.

Tyler Crawford has been with the Langley-based side since the club's inaugural season in 2023. In the first two seasons, he played in 31 games, including 8 last season before his campaign was unfortunately cut short by injury.
