Vancouver FC secured a stoppage-time equalizer to share the points with FC Supra in a CPL match-of-the-season contender away from home at Stade Boréale. This result keeps the point differential between the fourth- and fifth-seeded teams at two, favouring the Eagles. It was an immensely dramatic, action-packed match. Here are the talking points from Matchweek 25's opener.
Matteo Campagna earns the point for his side
VFC centre-back Matteo Campagna made a flick of the wrist, rising well and, with the slightest touch of his head, redirecting the ball into the top corner of Joakim Milli's net. VFC captain and shot-stopper Callum Irving sent in a tantalizing ball, begging for a VFC touch and a subsequent equalizer. Martin Nash will feel confident and somewhat relieved by today's result, as it appeared his side's playoff hopes were about to take a massive hit after Safewane Mlah's heroic volley gave Supra the lead in the 88th minute. The resulting draw gives both sides plenty to play for before the end of the regular season in the race for that coveted fourth and final playoff spot. With only two matches left, both clubs will face Vanni Sartini and his Halifax Wanderers side, who sit in sixth and need wins from both matches to steal the spot. After the clash with the East Coast side, FC Supra will host struggling Inter Toronto, while Vancouver FC will travel to Calgary to face top-of-the-table Cavalry FC.
Supra appear threatening under new manager
It was surely not the result Supra manager Kyt Selaidopoulos wanted, but the Québecois side looked more influential, securing most shot attempts in this outing. Football under newly appointed manager Kyt Selaidopoulos is showing encouraging signs for Supra's future. In Kyt's three matches in charge, they've recorded two wins and a draw. If Supra can reach the final playoff spot, it would give Cavalry, Forge, and Atlético Ottawa a run for their money, making the 2026 CPL playoffs perhaps the most competitive they've ever been.

Kwemi furthering his lead in the Golden Boot race
Supra talisman and the CPL's top goalscorer, Loïc Kwemi, is still doing his part for his team and finding the back of the net in what is turning out to be a historic season for the 29-year-old Québecois striker. Kwemi found the ball from a well-weighted touch and pass from Ibrahim Condé, then got past his defender and roofed the ball over Callum Irving at the far post. Irving, with his high standards, would expect better from himself on that goal. But the form and quality of the former Valour and Canada futsal player are just too much for even the best goalkeepers in the league. Kwemi secured his 15th goal of the campaign and will look to continue this historic run of form as he tries not only to get his side into the CPL playoff picture but also to win his first-ever Golden Boot. Not bad for a striker who, before joining Supra, spent the 2025-26 season in Ligue 2 Québec with CS LaSalle.
Other notable performers
For FC Supra du Québec, Ibrahim Condé connected well with teammates and gave the Eagles' defenders plenty to think about in this matchup. Zachary Brault-Guillard is also showing his quality and doing his part for his side since signing mid-season. The former Canadian international runs and reads the game well, disrupting dangerous attacking chances. Notably, his block on Luis Toomey's attempt inside the six-yard box stopped what likely would have been a substantial goal for Vancouver. Sean Rea once again looked like the main engineer and most dangerous player on either side, though his final product was somewhat lacking. For the Eagles, the aforementioned Callum Irving did well commanding his goalmouth and making some big saves in this matchup. Mo Amissi and Lys Mousset looked dangerous on the ball, and Emrick Fotsing posted strong metrics on both ends of the pitch.
