The road trip continues for CF Montréal as they travel to take on a struggling Orlando City side this weekend.

It was an impressive win against Red Bull New York last time out, as Marco Donadel’s men upset the undefeated side by a score of 3-0, led by a Wiki Carmona brace against his former team.

Their next test will be against an Orlando team that’s already fired their now ex-head coach, Óscar Pareja, after a disastrous first three games, carrying over from a disappointing end to the 2025 campaign.

The last four league meetings between these two teams have all ended in draws, while Montréal is looking for its first win in Orlando since 2021.

How CF Montreal enter the match

It was a much-needed win last week in New Jersey for the Impact, as pressure seemed to be piling up from supporters after those tough first two weeks.

The 5-4-1 allowed Iván Jaime and Carmona more space to find the game, while the aggressive man-marking defending shored up what had been an extremely leaky back line.

Matchday four means the club’s season-opening six-game road trip is now more than halfway over, and they’ll see this opportunity against a struggling Orlando side as an opportunity to take three more points home with them.

How Orlando City enter the match

The Lions have struggled to start 2026, losing their first three games to RBNY, Inter Miami, and New York City FC, with a combined goal difference of -8, putting them at the bottom of the league table.

That cost Pareja his job, with it being announced earlier this week that he and the club were “mutually parting ways” as assistant coach Martín Perelman would be promoted to an interim head coaching role.

Canadian veteran Maxime Crépeau is the usual starter in goal, but after a red card last week for handling the ball outside the 18-yard box, he’ll be sitting out of this one.

Orlando will be hoping a bit of a new coach bump will get their season on track, as a longer streak of losses could make this a lost year fast.

Availability

Montréal’s only injury question mark is around Fabian Herbers, who hasn’t made a matchday squad this season while dealing with an ankle injury – but has been back in training with the team recently.

For Orlando, on top of Crépeau’s red card suspension, they remain without key starters Wilder Cartagena (hamstring) and captain Robin Jansson (foot) through injury. French midfielder Joran Gerbet also remains out, rehabbing an ACL injury suffered last fall.

Projected XIs

TrueNorthFoot projects an unchanged Montréal lineup after a victory, while Orlando makes a few changes spread across the lineup from last week’s big loss to NYCFC.

CF Montréal (5-4-1): Thomas Gillier; Dagur Dan Þórhallsson, Tomás Avilés, Efrain Morales, Brayan Vera, Luca Petrasso; Wiki Carmona, Victor Loturi, Matty Longstaff, Iván Jaime; Prince Owusu

Orlando City (4-2-3-1): Javier Otero; Griffin Dorsey, David Brekalo, Nolan Miller, Adrián Marín; Braian Ojeda, Eduard Atuesta; Marco Pašalić, Martín Ojeda, Iván Angulo; Duncan McGuire
