Inter Toronto and Cavalry will meet for the fourth and final time in 2026 on what looks to be a cool Saturday afternoon in southern Ontario.

Head-to-head in 2026

These clubs first met back in April on a cold Saturday afternoon in Calgary. After trading goals late in the first half, the sides settled for a competitive 1-1 draw.

They met again just before the mid-season break in June, when Cavalry exploded for a five-goal outburst on the road to win 5-1.

Their most recent meeting in August saw Cavalry score five again, with the men in red keeping a clean sheet to earn a convincing 5-0 victory.

How Inter Toronto enter the match

The hosts are coming off a 4-3 loss to Pacific, which featured a frenetic first half in which seven goals were scored, three of which came on penalties. With a 5-9-9 record, Inter enter Saturday's contest with just two wins in their last 18 matches and have fallen down the CPL standings. Despite this, the side has scored three goals in four of their last five matches and sits nine points behind Vancouver FC. While playoff qualification remains unlikely, a late-season surge could keep them in contention, especially considering they have two matches in hand compared to the fourth-placed Eagles. With that in mind, anything less than three points for the hosts on Saturday would not eliminate them mathematically, but would reduce their chances of qualifying to nearly none.

How Cavalry enter the match

Cavalry are on short rest after a 3-2 loss in the nation's capital on Wednesday. A late equalizer from Tobias Warschewski was not enough as Atlético Ottawa roared back to secure the three points at the death. Cavalry lead the table with a 16-5-3 record and will hope to secure three points on Saturday to further their CPL Shield bid. Having already secured a home playoff date, the men in red will look to pursue their Shield aspirations while also meeting the requirement to field U21 players for 2,000 minutes across the season. Cavalry are still approximately 200 minutes shy of the mark and will need to make lineup changes over their next matches accordingly.

Availability

Tomasz Skublak and Oswaldo León will both miss Inter's eleven on Saturday for disciplinary reasons. For Skublak, yellow-card accumulation will hold him out, while Leon picked up a red card in last weekend's affair.

Julian Altobelli and Beni Badibanga were absent for Inter in their last match, with no updates yet on their status for Saturday.

Red Deer native Kai Campos has been between the sticks for Inter in each of their last six matches. The 19-year-old will be motivated to perform against his local club, but has struggled at the CPL level, allowing 16 goals in his six starts.

Cavalry will also be without lineup regulars due to discipline, with Goteh Ntignee and Adam Pearlman both suspended. Ntignee picked up a red card against Atlético Ottawa, while Pearlman's yellow card keeps him out for accumulation.

In addition to the suspended players, Caniggia Elva is still away from Cavalry on international duty, and Sergio Camargo has been absent from the lineup in the club's previous two contests with a lingering injury.
