CF Montréal ended their six-game away run to start the season with yet another defeat, this time against the New England Revolution.
While it marks a fifth loss from six matches, the performance was far from their worst, with the Bleu-blanc-noir hitting the woodwork twice and creating many chances throughout.
Thomas Gillier, who had been a doubt ahead of the match, started in goal behind a back four of Luca Petrasso, Brandan Craig, Efraín Morales, and Dawid Bugaj. Victor Loturi and Matthew Longstaff formed the double pivot, with Ivén Jaime operating in the ten role ahead of them. Wiki Carmona and Dagur Thórhallsson started on the wings, with Prince Owusu as the lone striker.
The hosts took an early lead through Luca Langoni, who tapped in the rebound after Gillier had saved Dor Turgeman's initial effort. It was another contribution for the Argentine, who has now been involved in five goals across his last three matches, with one goal and four assists.

New England head coach Marko Mitrovic was sent off in the 34th minute after stepping onto the field to protest a refereeing decision.
The hosts almost doubled their lead shortly after, with Langoni teeing up Turgeman, whose effort struck the post.
It was not the only time the woodwork came into play. As the first half drew to a close, Iván Jaime tried his luck from outside the box and hit the post before striking the crossbar in the second half.
Montreal had chances of their own, with Dawid Bugaj and Hennadii Synchuk both seeing efforts saved by US international Matt Turner.
New England doubled their lead late on, with Mamadou Fofana finishing inside the box after a perfect cross from Luca Langoni.
