CF Montréal has formally announced the signing of Emil Gazdov from Pacific FC for an undisclosed transfer fee.

The goalkeeper put pen to paper for two seasons and options for 2027 and 2028.

Gazdov, 21, is the reigning Golden Glove winner in the Canadian Premier League, contributing to 7 clean sheets in 21 games in league action.

He made 49 appearances for the Tridents from 2022 to 2024, winning the league’s Golden Glove award last season.

Initially signing with Pacific in 2020, he was loaned to the U19 squad of German club 1. FC Nürnberg after failing to make an appearance in the Canadian Premier League.

He returned to Langford in 2022, made his debut in July, and secured the starting spot in 2023 following Callum Irving’s departure.

"We are happy to sign this young player to complete our trio of Canadian goalkeepers," said CF Montréal President and CEO Gabriel Gervais in a statement. "Emil is a mature player who has progressed well since his debut. He is an imposing goalkeeper with a lot of potential. We are looking forward to having him in Montreal."
