Cavalry and Inter Toronto will meet on what is expected to be a blisteringly hot Saturday night in Foothills County with three critical points on the line.

The two sides have met twice in 2026 thus far. Their first meeting at ATCO Field ended in a 1-1 draw, while the Cavs claimed an impressive 5-1 road victory just before the league entered its June break.

Cavalry come into the match second in the CPL table with nine wins, three draws, and two losses. The home side most recently earned a 2-1 victory over FC Supra on Tuesday, with Nathaniel Edwards and Amer Didic finding the back of the net. A win on Saturday would move Cavalry within one point of first-place Forge, albeit having played two more matches than the league leaders.

Inter Toronto have struggled since the season resumed. Their last win dates back to May 17 against Pacific, with the side recording two draws and five losses since then. Despite their poor run of form, Inter are still firmly in the race for a playoff spot. Three points on Saturday could lift them as high as fifth, depending on results elsewhere.

Availability

Cavalry have faced numerous availability challenges in recent weeks. Nathan Ingham was absent from the squad against Supra, but the goalkeeper spoke with excitement about the upcoming challenge Inter present, suggesting he will be back in the mix this weekend. Eryk Kobza and Harry Paton served suspensions in the last match but are both eligible to return. However, because Kobza's suspension stemmed from a red card rather than yellow card accumulation, he remains just one caution away from another ban. Midfielder Michael Baldisimo has suffered two lower-body injuries in the last three matches, which is especially concerning given the likelihood that Kobza will soon be forced to miss another match through suspension. Bradley Kamdem Fewo and Goteh Ntignee were also absent against Supra, with no official update provided on their availability.

Inter Toronto will be without young Canadian star Shola Jimoh, who is away with Canada's U-20 team at the CONCACAF U-20 Championship. Additionally, Diego Urtiaga's loan has come to an end, meaning Ivan Pavela started in goal in last week's match against Forge. Pavela made six saves against Forge and will look to bounce back with a stronger performance against Cavalry.
