Canada Soccer makes it official: TSS Rovers will face Pacific
BY TRUENORTHFOOT PUBLISHED ON APRIL 19, 2024

After a few days of speculation, Canada Soccer has finally confirmed that the TSS Rovers will replace the Victoria Highanders in the 2024 Canadian Championship, where they're set to face Pacific FC at Starlight Stadium on May 1.

A week ago, the Victoria Highlanders announced in a statement that they'd be suspending all League1 BC operations after the club ran into a disagreement with the new league owners; CSB.

"Despite our best efforts over the past 2-months we have been unable to reach an agreement with the new owners of League1BC that would allow us to carry on the Victoria Highlanders..." the club said.

With their League1 BC team no longer existing, the Canadian Championship match against CPL side Pacific FC was left in suspense.

Rumours began showing up about the TSS Rovers potentially replacing them, as they're the team that finished 2nd behind the Victoria club.

With 15 days until the clash in Langford, Canada Soccer confirmed that the TSS Rovers would indeed replace the Highlanders.

It won't be the first time these two face each other. Last year, and in the same competition, the professional side defeated the semi-pro team 2-0 to advance to the semi-finals.

The match is set to be played on May 1 at 7pm local time.
