The Canadian Premier League to Canadian national team pipeline continues.

Aribim Pepple is set to be called up to the squad for the March window, according to Joshua Kloke of The Athletic, though the news comes as little surprise.

The former Cavalry striker is in fantastic form at Plymouth Argyle in England's third tier, scoring 12 goals and adding an assist in his last 18 games across all competitions. This season, the 23-year-old has scored 14 times and added two assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.

In February, we reported that Pepple was attracting interest from CF Montreal, with a potential summer move on the cards.

The striker made his professional debut at Cavalry in 2019, departing after the 2020 season before returning in 2022, where his form earned him a move to Luton Town. His time there proved difficult, with a series of loan spells over three years before a permanent transfer to Plymouth Argyle, where he has rediscovered his best form and now earned a national team call-up.

Pepple will add much-needed depth up front, with Promise David ruled out of the March window after suffering a ruptured tendon, casting serious doubt over his World Cup prospects given that his recovery timeline runs through roughly June, when the tournament begins.

Jonathan David and Cyle Larin have both been short of their best form, while Rayan Elloumi, who made his Canada debut in January, has since been called up by Tunisia and will face Canada at BMO Field.

The CanMNT are set for two friendlies in Toronto, taking on Iceland on March 28 and Tunisia on March 31.
