Rumour: Federico Bernardeschi to renew with Toronto through 2028
BY TRUENORTHFOOT PUBLISHED ON DECEMBER 21, 2024 (MODIFIED ON DEC 21, 2024)

Is Federico Bernardeschi set to stay with Toronto FC through the 2028 season?

On this Friday's episode of OneSoccer Today, Gareth Wheeler revealed that 'multiple sources' have indicated the Italian forward's contract will be extended through 2028 upon achieving a goal contributions milestone.

Bernardeschi originally signed a contract that runs until the end of the 2026 season, though no mention of performance-related metrics or club options was included in Toronto FC's official press release.

In the 2024 season, Bernardeschi appeared in 37 matches across all competitions, scoring 9 times and registering 7 assists.

He has 22 goals in 84 matches for the Reds.
