Vancouver FC are finalizing a deal to sell Grady McDonell to Club NXT of Belgium
BY TRUENORTHFOOT PUBLISHED ON JANUARY 15, 2025

Vancouver FC are finalizing a deal to transfer U17 Ireland international Grady McDonell to Club NXT of Belgium, which is Club Brugge's 2nd team, according to the reliable Fabrizio Romano.

Should the deal be complete, the Eagles would get over $500k CAD along with add-ons, making it one of the highest outbound transfer fees in Canadian Premier League history.

The 16-year-old was signed by Vancouver at the beginning of the 2024 season on a three-year deal.

In his first season – which looks like it'll be his only one with the Eagles –, he made 17 appearances, recording 2 assists.

McDonell has represented Ireland at the youth level, most recently appearing for the U17 team.

If finalized, this would mark the first player sale in Vancouver FC history.
