Forge FC head coach Bobby Smyrniotis was visibly frustrated with the officiating following Sunday’s loss to Atlético Ottawa.
The Hammers were denied two potential penalties after handballs by Ottawa’s Kevin dos Santos, both of which went uncalled by referee Carly Shaw-MacLaren.

While the replay clearly shows the first handball, it’s understandable that the referee might not have had the best angle, making the missed call plausible.
The second incident, however, was far more questionable and difficult to justify.

"Were we sharp enough on certain areas of the pitch? No." Bobby Smyrniotis said. "We went up, we went down, we pushed, we were in the opponents' box, we created a lot of opportunities, a lot of balls hit a lot of players' hands in the box, yada yada... You know, that's the game."
