The road trip continues for the Vancouver Whitecaps, who head out to the Midwest to take on St. Louis City in a battle for the top seed in the Western Conference.

Here's everything you need to know heading into the game!

How St. Louis City enters this match

The hottest team in Major League Soccer is looking to set a new record.

After a demanding 6-2 win over the LA Galaxy on Sunday, a win or draw against the Whitecaps would set a new league record for the longest unbeaten run at 21 games.

Currently sitting in second place, a win would take them to first in the Western Conference and secure their first playoff berth since their inaugural 2023 season, while a draw would also be enough.

How the Vancouver Whitecaps enter this match

The Vancouver Whitecaps need to remind the league how good they truly are, and what better way to make a statement than against MLS's hottest side.

The 'Caps come off a 1-1 draw against LAFC after the side battled it out for the majority of the game due to Tristan Blackmon's seventh-minute sending-off, with the result securing playoff soccer for a fourth consecutive season.

Currently sitting in first, the Whitecaps cannot afford any more slip-ups if they want to qualify as the top seed in the West, and it starts here in St. Louis.

Head-to-Head

These two sides have already met in the 2026 MLS season, with St. Louis shocking the 'Caps at BC Place Stadium and recording a 3-1 win, with goals from Simon Becher, Tomas Totland, and Conrad Wallem cancelling out an early Emmanuel Sabbi opener.

The Whitecaps have the edge in the head-to-head series, with the visitors holding a 4-1-2 record against the hosts.

In games at St. Louis, the series is perfectly even at 1-1-1, so this match can go either way!

Availability

For St. Louis, only Brazilian winger Célio Pompeu is unavailable due to a long-term knee injury.

For Vancouver, Sam Adekugbe, Jeevan Badwal, Kenji Cabrera, Belal Halbouni, and Thomas Müller are all unavailable for the game; defender Tristan Blackmon will miss the match after receiving a red card on Saturday.
