It looks like Atlético Ottawa aren't done with the San Luís to Ottawa connection.
Mexican media outlet 'Atlético de San Luis News' reports that attacking midfielder David Rodríguez will be joining the club from the nation's capital as a loan from their sister club in Mexico.

Rodríguez, 22, had a couple short stints with Atlético San Luis' first team in Liga MX, making limited appearances and recording little minutes. He mostly plays at the club's youth levels, appearing in 70 games from 2021 to 2024.
During the 2023 season, he was loaned to Austin's MLS Next Pro side, where he became a key player in the team which culminated in the league title. In his time in the United States, he made 24 appearances across the regular season and playoffs, scoring 6 times and tallying 3 assists.
He also had a two-year stint with North Texas SC – the reserve side of MLS outfit FC Dallas, – in USL League One from 2019 to the end of 2020, playing in 30 matches while registering 3 goal contributions.
It seems like the move will not be the only one from Atlético San Luís to Atlético Ottawa this offseason, with 22-year-old defensive midfielder Kevin Ortega and 21-year-old attacking midfielder Iker Moreno rumoured to be heading to the nation's capital.
Ottléti has already signed one former San Luís player, inking 33-year-old Juan 'Coque' Castro to a one-year deal with a club option for 2026.
