The 2025 Canadian Premier League final had everything you could possibly imagine.

Atlético Ottawa lifted the North Star Cup after defeating Cavalry 2-1 in a match that lasted nearly four hours due to multiple snow-clearing delays at TD Place.

Fraser Aird gave the Cavs the lead from the penalty spot, but David Rodriguez quickly equalized with a spectacular bicycle kick — a goal that’s since gone viral around the world. Rodriguez struck again in extra time to seal the win for Ottawa and deliver the club its first-ever CPL title.

A snow-covered pitch, a dramatic comeback, and a world-class goal — this one had it all.

The world reacted accordingly.
