While one era ends in the nation's capital, another begins on Vancouver Island.

Saturday afternoon, Pacific host Atlético Ottawa at Starlight Stadium, with a lot of headlines surrounding this one.

Here's everything you need to know heading into tomorrow's game.

How Pacific come into the match

18 matches without a win.

It's been nothing short of a disastrous start to the season for Pacific, with the 2021 champs yet to register a win.

Their most recent outing saw the Tridents get picked apart by the Cavs, with the Albertan side picking up a 3-0 win at ATCO Field.

With James Merriman fired, Pacific announced the hiring of former Canadian Men's National Team midfielder Terry Dunfield, who will start to oversee operations in early July.

Can the Tridents turn around this abysmal season?

How Atlético Ottawa come into the match

It has been an interesting season so far for the reigning champions.

After plenty of turnover in the offseason, Atlético Ottawa have had a mixed start to the year, but occupy the fourth and final playoff spot.

Atlético Ottawa's most recent match saw them grab an unlikely 2-1 win over Forge, with Joaquim Coulanges scoring the game-winning goal late on.

While the home side begins a new era, the away side says goodbye to one, with head coach Diego Mejía leaving after the match.

Can Ottawa give him a proper goodbye with a win?

Head-to-Head

Across 24 matches in all competitions between the two sides, Atlético Ottawa hold the advantage with 10 wins. Pacific have recorded seven victories, while the remaining seven matches have ended in draws.

The Tridents' biggest win came in 2023 at TD Place Stadium, where the visitors earned a 4-1 victory thanks to goals from Sean Young, Josh Heard, Aymen Sellouf, and Amer Didić. Ollie Bassett scored the lone goal for the hosts.

Atlético's largest win came a year later at Starlight Stadium, where goals from Aboubacar Sissoko, Ilias Iliadis, and Ruben Del Campo secured a 3-0 victory.

Availability

For Pacific, Juan Quintana will remain unavailable, as he sits out his second of three games due to a red card against Inter Toronto.

For Atlético, head coach Diego Mejía will not be on the sidelines tomorrow, as he's been suspended for yellow-card accumulation. He will be present at the game, however.
