Kadin Chung is back in Vancouver Island.
The fullback signed a two-year contract with Pacific, marking his second stint with the 2021 Canadian Premier League champions.
Chung, 26, was the Tridents' first ever signing, joining the club six months before they even kicked a ball.
In his first stint at Starlight, Chung went on to make 63 appearances for Pacific across all competitions, scoring two goals along the way. He was a key part of the team that won the league in 2021.
"Kadin is one of the most well-rounded defenders we have in the country," said Pacific head coach James Merriman in a statement. "He’s comfortable in build-up play, he’s very effective attacking wide areas or coming inside. He’s strong in one-on-one situations defensively and deceptively quick in his recovery runs. He’s a top talent at this level and we believe he is capable of even more."
In 2022, Chung left Pacific to join fellow Canadian outfit Toronto FC, becoming the third player to make the move from the CPL to MLS. He made 8 appearances with the Reds before being loaned to the reserve side in MLS Next Pro.
The following season, Chung joined provincial rivals Vancouver FC in their inaugural season, also playing a 2nd year there.
