Forge announced the return of forward Mo Babouli for the 2025 Canadian Premier League season.
The 32-year-old forward is no stranger to the Hammers, having made 43 appearances from 2020 to 2021 with the Hamiltonians, tallying 12 goals and 6 assists. He won two titles with the club.
After departing Forge at the end of 2021, Babouli joined Qatar's Muaither FC, before joining fellow provincial rivals York United in the middle of the 2022 season, where his first goal came against none other than his then-former side.
With the Nine Stripes, he amassed 53 appearances while recording an impressive 19 goals and 6 assists over two seasons and a half.
Babouli is 9th in the league's all-time goal contributions, tied with teammate David Choinière and Easton Ongaro with 36 goals + assists.
"We’re excited to have Mo back at Forge FC," said Forge FC head coach Bobby Smyrniotis to the Canadian Premier League. "He’s a fantastic player who knows what it takes to succeed here, and we’re confident he’ll make a big impact again."
Babouli is already in Mexico training with Forge ahead of the two-legged series against C.F. Monterrey for the Concacaf Champions Cup first round.
The Hammers are back in action when they take on the Mexican giants on Wednesday, February 5 in Hamilton, before playing the 2nd leg in Mexico 6 days later.
Forge has already made a big splash this off-season, signing defender Dan Nimick and Players' Player of the Year winner Brian Wright.
Rezart Rama is also set to make a return to Hamilton on loan.
