How Minnesota United enter this match
It wasn't a great return to action for the Loons on Wednesday.
A 2-1 loss against Sporting Kansas City at Sporting Park was Minnesota's most recent outing, as Kansas City grabbed just a fourth win of the season.
Currently winless in their previous five games, Cameron Knowles' side comes into this game in must-win territory, as they might slip out of the final wildcard spot if they continue this poor stretch.
How the Vancouver Whitecaps enter this match
It was also a loss for the Whitecaps in their third match back from the World Cup break.
It wasn't meant to be for Vancouver, as they suffered a narrow 4-3 loss at TQL Stadium against FC Cincinnati on Wednesday.
They are still at the top of the Western Conference thanks to Orlando's 4-0 win over San Jose, but LAFC have now entered the race for the top spot in the conference, meaning the Vancouver Whitecaps will probably need a win before they face them next week.

Vancouver fans have not forgotten the last meeting between these two sides. In the middle of March, the Whitecaps dismantled Minnesota 6-0, as Brian White scored a brace while Sebastián Berhalter, Mathías Laborda, Emmanuel Sabbi, and Cheikh Sabaly all got their names on the scoresheet.
These two sides have met 18 times since Minnesota's inaugural season in 2017, with the Whitecaps holding a slight edge with seven wins and five draws, while Minnesota have six wins.
The previously mentioned 6-0 victory is Vancouver's largest ever against Minnesota. Meanwhile, the Loons recorded their biggest win over the Whitecaps in 2022, earning a 3-1 victory at BC Place Stadium.
Players to Watch
Minnesota's left-footed magician Joaquín Pereyra has had a good season so far, recording a goal and six assists in sixteen games. A player more renowned for setting up goals than firing them in, Pereyra has been the best performer on a Minnesota side that probably hasn't met expectations, to be honest. With a win being crucial for Minnesota tomorrow, the 27-year-old midfielder and forward will certainly help with that cause thanks to his brilliant service.
A positive from Vancouver's loss against Cincinnati was the captain's performance in his first MLS start in over 500 days. Scottish designated player Ryan Gauld made his return to the starting eleven with a great performance, grabbing a brace in the 63 minutes given to him by Jesper Sørensen, with the second goal being a ripping shot from just inside the area. Gauld's return has elevated a Vancouver side that probably needed that boost following the rumoured departure of midfielder Sebastián Berhalter. Does the 30-year-old have another trick up his sleeve tomorrow?

For Minnesota, Carlos Harvey, Nicolás Romero, and Nectarios Triantis were all listed as unavailable for the club before their most recent game, and it is unknown whether that list will change. Dominik Fitz wasn't named on the list but wasn't in Minnesota's match-day squad for unknown reasons.
For Vancouver, Kenji Cabrera, Belal Halbouni, Ralph Priso, and Emmanuel Sabbi remain out due to injuries, while Liam Mackenzie misses out due to international duty. Bruno Caicedo's status is up in the air after being withdrawn in the first half during Vancouver's most recent outing. Sebastián Berhalter will not be available, as he is in the final stages of securing a £2M move to EFL Championship side Middlesbrough.
