It's time for another crucial away day for the Vancouver Whitecaps as they take on Los Angeles FC at BMO Stadium.
Here's everything you need to know heading into tomorrow's game!
How Los Angeles FC enter this match
It's an interesting time for the Black & Gold. After suffering a 1-0 defeat to FC Dallas in their most recent match, manager Marc Dos Santos was sacked by the club and replaced by interim head coach Xavi Tamarit.
Currently sitting sixth in the Western Conference, LAFC will hope to steady the ship as the playoffs take shape, and a win over the top side in the West would help in Tamarit's debut.
How the Vancouver Whitecaps enter this match
Jesper Sørensen's side are looking to bounce back after two matches without a win, having suffered a 3-1 defeat to the Chicago Fire on Tuesday evening, with Mathías Laborda scoring Vancouver's lone goal.
Currently sitting first in the Western Conference, a win would clinch Vancouver's ticket to the postseason, but the Whitecaps are more importantly looking to clinch the top seed in the West as the Supporters' Shield slowly slips away.
Head-to-head
This will be the second time the two sides meet in 2026, after the 1-1 draw at BC Place Stadium in August, when Son Heung-Min and Thomas Müller traded goals in the first and second halves.
In the overall series, LAFC leads with a 12-8-7 (W-D-L) record against the Whitecaps.
Players to watch
Vancouver is pretty familiar with the danger man that is 31-year-old Gabonese winger Denis Bouanga. With 21 goals and five assists in 36 games, Bouanga also has an insane record against the Whitecaps, with nine goals and seven assists in fifteen games. In the reverse fixture, he set up Son Heung-Min's opener, and the two players have formed a dynamic partnership that ranks among the best in league history. Can the 'Caps defence stop Bouanga this time? Well, it's gonna be very difficult to contain him.
The Whitecaps will turn to Scottish midfielder Ryan Gauld for the goals and assists needed to defeat LAFC. The 30-year-old has been in a bit of a dry spell heading into this match; he hasn't scored in his last five games, and he missed a penalty during that stretch. Nonetheless, the quality is still there: he's recorded four goals and one assist since returning from his long-term knee injury. Gauld has had some moments against the hosts, recording four goals and three assists in fifteen games, including a masterclass against LAFC in the 2024 MLS Playoffs that saw him score a goal and set up two own goals in a 3-0 home win. If Gauld can snap his goal drought tomorrow, it would help the team massively.
Availability
This section will be updated at 2:00 pm PT following the release of the MLS Availability Report.
For Los Angeles, Thomas Hasal and Timothy Tillman were unavailable in their most recent match, with Hasal listed as questionable. Aaron Long will be available for selection after serving his red card ban, while Denis Bouanga, Mathieu Choinière, Son Heung-Min, Jacob Shaffelburg, Jude Terry, and Leo Walta return after completing international matches.
For Vancouver, Jeevan Badwal, Kenji Cabrera, and Belal Halbouni will likely remain out with injuries. Sam Adekugbe and Thomas Müller have some hamstring issues and won't be available for tomorrow. The good news is that Andrés Cubas, Mihail Gherasimencov, Édier Ocampo, and Ralph Priso are all back from international duty and available.
