James Cameron has been transferred to the Colorado Rapids' MLS NEXT Pro team from Vancouver FC for an undisclosed fee.

Vancouver will retain a sell-on fee for the move.

The 20-year-old midfielder moves south of the border after spending the past two seasons with the Eagles.

In his time in Langley, he made 37 appearances across 2023 and 2024, scoring one goal.

Cameron's performance in 2023 earned him a nomination for the Canadian Premier League’s U-21 Player of the Year award.

The midfielder also brings international experience, having been called up multiple times to the Canadian U-20 National Team. The North Vancouver native has earned seven caps and has featured in both the Concacaf U-20 Championship qualifiers and the tournament itself.

Cameron becomes the 2nd outbound transfer in Vancouver FC history, with Grady McDonnell making the move to Belgium in a deal valued at €350k.
