The playoff race is heating up as the 2026 CPL season enters crunch time, with fourth-seeded Vancouver FC travelling to La Belle Province to face fifth-seeded FC Supra at Stade Boréale in Laval, Québec.

Both teams will likely field their best lineups and strategies to get a crucial result from this matchup. A win for FC Supra would propel them past Vancouver FC and into the playoff picture with so few games remaining, while a win or draw for the Eagles would get them closer than ever to the final spot in the postseason.

Big game to prove his stripes for Kyt Selaidopoulos

No matchup is bigger for the newly-appointed manager to prove himself to the Supra faithful than this one. The former Forge assistant manager has taken the reins from former CS Saint-Laurent manager Nick Rizzaghi and returns to his home province with impressive hardware. Selaidopoulos has some dangerous weapons at his disposal: Sean Rea, David Choinière, Diyaeddine Abzi, and golden-boot leader Loïc Kwemi, as they try to build on their momentum after winning their last two matches since Kyt's arrival. As mentioned, the stakes in this matchup are immense and likely to make any newly-appointed manager nervous as they head into their third-ever match in charge. Luckily for Supra fans, their head coach comes from a team that knows a thing or two about winning big matches in CPL play.

Chance for Martin Nash's side to prove their worth

It's been tough sledding for Vancouver FC, who, before their recent slump, looked like a top team in the CPL. But in their last five matches, Martin Nash's side have earned six points: one win, one loss and three draws. To make matters worse, one of those losses and a draw came against seventh-placed Inter Toronto, while another draw came against bottom-of-the-league Pacific, who have just two wins under their belt in their abysmal 2026 campaign. The one caveat is that the Eagles' only win in that run of subpar form came against FC Supra, a 3-2 win. Still, the question remains: are the Eagles a playoff team? Do they have the quality to take on teams like Cavalry and Forge? They need to start getting results, and Saturday's pivotal matchup is the first step.

Last time out

As mentioned, the last time these two teams met, Vancouver FC won 3-2. Chrétien and Condé scored for Supra, while Vancouver got their goals from Mousset, Bah, and a Ferdinand own goal.
