Cavalry and Pacific will face off at ATCO Field in their fifth and final meeting of 2026.

Despite being at opposite ends of the table, the sides own the two worst five-game runs of form coming into the week, and both will be eager to capture all three points.

Head-to-head in 2026:

Cavalry dominated the matchup early in the year, securing two convincing CPL wins, 2-1 and 3-0, and adding a Canadian Championship preliminary-round win, 3-1.

After a frenetic start to the year, the clubs have met only once since May, with Cavalry claiming a narrow 1-0 win at Starlight Stadium in September. Having lost all four previous meetings with the Albertan side this year, the Tridents will look to play spoiler for the hosts, especially with the Shield race reignited.

How Cavalry FC enter the match

After a calamitous road trip that saw them lose two straight for the first time in over a year and concede a late equalizer in a match they looked set to win, Cavalry return to ATCO Field for their remaining two regular-season matches.

Now level on points with Forge at the top of the standings, Cavalry will look to return to winning ways to round out their season and capture their third-ever CPL Shield. With identical records, Cavalry’s impressive, albeit dwindling, goal difference keeps them ahead. With the Hammers set to play earlier in the day, Cavalry’s expectations against Pacific will be simple: take three points by whatever means necessary, and score as many goals as they can.

How Pacific FC enter the match

Long removed from the playoff conversation, Pacific will look not only to thwart Cavalry’s Shield aspirations but also to build on an improved second half of 2026.

Current form suggests the side is struggling again, with three straight multi-goal losses and no goals since their first-half September 27 victory over Inter. However, the Tridents’ last 12 matches have seen them post a 2-5-5 record, much better than their 0-3-11 start to the season. The visitors will come in expecting to play Cavalry much closer than they did at the beginning of the year and will need little motivation to play the heel, especially considering Cavalry’s recent woes.

Availability

Cavalry’s typical midfield duo, Eryk Kobza and Harry Paton, will both miss Saturday’s contest due to suspension. Kobza has reached another accumulation milestone, while Paton was sent off in last week’s draw against the Wanderers.

With Cavalry still shy of their U21 minutes requirement, Niko Myroniuk comes in as one of the likely starters in the hosts’ defensive midfield.

Sergio Camargo has now missed four consecutive matches. What has only been described as a lingering issue has forced the veteran midfielder out of action for nearly a month.

Pacific’s goalkeeping duo, Eleias Himaras and Sean Melvin, have made an equal number of starts in 26 matches, although Himaras has been on the pitch more often lately.

On the back line, Kadin Chung has been out of the Pacific lineup since September 19. The veteran defender’s return would be extremely valuable to the visitors. Additionally, Josh Belluz made his second consecutive start last week against Ottawa, playing his first full 90-minute shift since August 22.
