Ghotbi, 60, was hired as the newest expansion side's manager in November of 2022.
He holds a record of 15 wins, 14 draws, and 29 losses (W-D-L) across 58 matches in all competitions. Under his tenure, the Eagles have yet to make the playoffs, finishing 7th in both seasons the club has participated in.
Vancouver started the 2024 season on a strong note, winning 4 of their first 7 games and sitting in the top 3 during the early weeks. However, a poor run of form in the second half of the season—managing just 2 wins in their final 14 matches—caused them to drop to 7th place, missing the playoffs once again.
The Eagles will be looking to qualify for the post-season for the first time in club history.
They have yet to announce any departures from the 2024 squad. However, Rocco Romeo, Austin Ricci, and Moses Dyer have all seen their contracts expire at the end of the year, with Dyer being linked to a move to Europe.
Mexican forward Alejandro Díaz is on loan from Norway first division side Sognal Fotbal until June.
