Inter Toronto host Cavalry in a midweek clash to close out their first part of the CPL season. Both clubs will be looking to end this stretch of the campaign with a win, as playoff permutations slowly begin to factor into the decision-making of both managers.

Cavalry have 17 wins in 27 all-time meetings, but the six matches between the sides since the start of 2025 paint a much closer picture, with Cavalry earning three wins, Toronto two, and most recently a 1-1 draw on a snowy afternoon in April.

How Inter Toronto come into the match

Inter Toronto are coming off a 4-1 loss to Forge last weekend and sit third in the table with a 3-3-2 record. Notably, Inter have played one fewer match than most of the league, but come into this fixture with one less day of rest. Despite holding an edge in possession, Inter conceded 26 shots last week, with 13 requiring intervention from Diego Urtiaga. Inter will need to tighten up defensively, as Cavalry are tied for the league lead with 14 goals scored.

Goals have not been an issue for them, sitting third in the CPL with 12 through eight matches, but they have struggled to keep the ball out of their own net, having also conceded 12 goals. Tomasz Skublak and Julian Altobelli have each scored four times and are tied for the league lead. The duo will be hard-pressed to add to those totals, as Cavalry goalkeeper Nathan Ingham has been recording clean sheets with remarkable consistency, allowing just one league goal since these two sides last met in April.

How Cavalry come into the match

Cavalry sit second in the table with a 6-2-1 record after a dominant victory over Halifax. The Cavs will look to cap off an impressive opening stretch of the season with another win, but Inter remain one of only two teams to have taken points from the Albertan side so far. Tobias Warschewski has been held off the scoresheet in back-to-back matches after scoring in four straight. Urtiaga is one of the few goalkeepers who has consistently denied Warschewski, making three saves against him alone in their last meeting.

Availability

For the home side, young star Shola Jimoh has missed the last two matches, while long-time starter Oswaldo León has made just three appearances so far in 2026. No update on either player's availability has been provided at this time. On a positive note, Frank Sturing returned to action last week and will look to make another impact in this fixture.

Cavalry have been without forward Ali Musse for the past two matches, requiring Jay Herdman and Caniggia Elva to step into more prominent roles. At the back, both Adam Pearlman and Eryk Kobza picked up yellow cards against Halifax and now sit one caution away from an accumulation suspension. Pearlman played the full 90 minutes last weekend, while Kobza was substituted at halftime, presumably to avoid a second booking and potential dismissal. The looming suspensions for both players could factor into Tommy Wheldon Jr.'s lineup decisions, especially with a two-week break following this match.
